More Townes Van Zandt reissues due next month

January 1st 2017 marked the twentieth anniversary of the death of the Texan troubadour Townes Van Zandt, and the ongoing Charly Records reissue campaign of his catalogue continues with the release of two more of his albums on Friday February 24th: “Texas Rain” and “Flyin’ Shoes”. All original Poppy and Tomato albums which Van Zandt recorded at the peak of his career are being restored, newly remastered with some nice repackaging as Definitive Edition Remasters on gatefold SleevePac CD’s, limited edition 180g heavyweight coloured vinyl, digital download and Mastered For iTunes formats.

‘Texas Rain’ has now been newly remastered to all physical and digital formats and repackaged with a full-colour 20-page booklet, in-depth sleeve notes and an interview with original producer and manager Kevin Eggers. The vinyl version has been pressed as a double LP limited audiophile edition, and feature a bonus track – ‘No Place To Fall’, a duet with Willie Nelson.

Next up is “High, Low and In Between” and “Delta Momma Blues” later in 2017.
