Americana UK is basically a non-commercial site, save for some audience-tailored americana ads. The site relies on all the writers including myself doing what we do in our spare time (in my case around a full-time day job in the world of drugs research – which I guess you could say is tangentially connected).

If you’re able to help us out by donating towards our running costs, we have a number of subscription options and in return we’ll send you an exclusive monthly Spotify/Apple Music playlist of the best new americana we’ve heard*, plus we’ll put you into a monthly draw to win albums, tickets, etc.  Just hit the subscribe button below to start your sub off, or drop me a line via the contacts page if you’d like to do this by standing order.  You can cancel at any time.  Thanks sincerely for your support!

Mark Whitfield, Editor, Americana UK

*Spotify and Apple Music offer both a free and a paid service – you don’t need a premium account for our monthly playlist, although the free account means tracks can only be played on shuffle on mobile devices, and you might hear the odd advert. Also we know streaming services screw artists over but the idea is that you might hear something you like so much that you go and buy a CD or record, or gig tickets. A win-win situation hopefully.
