Annie Dressner announces UK autumn tour

Cambridge-based New Yorker Annie Dressner has announced a UK tour in support of her upcoming single ‘I’ve Always Been Like This’, released on 2nd September. The tour takes on fifteen dates, starting with an appearance with recent collaborator David Ford at the Moseley Folk Festival on 3rd September, and includes shows opening for Ben Ottewell and Polly Paulusma. Support on Dressner’s headline gigs comes from a variety of acts across the month, namely Amelia Coburn, Wes Finch and Dan Wilde. Dressner has most recently toured and released a well-received album as one-half of duo Dressner Ford (with the David as mentioned earlier). Read more about their collaboration in a recent Americana UK interview.

Of her new single (co-written with Matthew Caws of Nada Surf), Dressner says, “I’ve always been like this, I’m always alone, even when I’m surrounded by a crowd. Since I was a kid, I felt as if I didn’t belong – an outsider looking in -except for the times few and far between when somebody knows the places I’ve been, the rare times someone really truly sees me, and in those moments, rare as they might be, sadness and loneliness are taken away. I ask; ‘Am I alone in thinking I’m alone in feeling like this?’ I hope others will feel less alone listening to this song.” Find out on one of the following dates:
