Arts Fishing Club “Icarus” – Listen

There’s a story, too complicated to go into right here, that explains the band name – suffice to say that Wisconsin-bred singer-songwriter Christopher Kessenich spent a lot of time and perseverance on finding the band he dreamed of.  It required moving to Nashville, going on a 1,600 mile hike with a folk music collective and then touring different line-ups for two years before settling with Matthew Siffert (Bass), Peter Eddins (Keys/Sax), and Jimi Greene (Lead Guitar).   The band are releasing their debut album ‘Human’  in two phases – Part 1 was in October this year, and Part 2 is next year.  ‘Icarus‘ is a song about being humble before you get humbled.

Sure, I could climb high in a tree, or go to Skye on my holiday. I could be happy. All I really want is the excitement of first hearing The Byrds, the amazement of decades of Dylan's music, or the thrill of seeing a band like The Long Ryders live. That's not much to ask, is it?
