AUK’s Chain Gang: The Avett Brothers “Ain’t No Man”

John Fogerty might be one for his powerful lyrics and strong message, but one of the most powerful messages ever delivered was by the Avett Brothers in their 2017 album ‘True Sadness’.

The first track on the album, ‘Ain’t No Man’ is a song all about self-motivation and the fact that you are your own god. You have the power to do whatever you want to do in life and there is no one that can tell you otherwise. The feet stomping and the whole band singing together create this brilliant unified voice.

But most importantly, it’s a great song.

The song titled “Ain’t no Man” is about how those that consider themselves the ‘religious from all faiths’ feel they have the ability to save man in his lost state, so wrong, only the Holy Spirit can direct man’s heart to choose a Holy God.
