Beth Bombara “Evergreen” – Listen

What greater pleasure can there be than to find an artist with a strong musical vision, and the band and great vocals to carry it off.  For Beth Bombara is that artist – great swirling keyboard chords and grinding guitar are a feature of ‘Evergreen‘ whilst Beth Bombara’s vocals have a great rock growl to them – a little reminiscent of Deborah Harry in places which is a bonus.

Beth has described how the song came about “This song was birthed during my time up in the mountains. I did a lot of hiking, and actually stayed in a cabin named Evergreen. Meditating on the different meanings of that word, (evergreen) shaped the song for me. Ever-youthful, ever-wide-eyed, but still strong. To be able to weather whatever life throws my way. That’s what I’m striving for.”

Evergreen‘ is the title track of Beth Bombara’s new album – which was accurately reviewed here.

Sure, I could climb high in a tree, or go to Skye on my holiday. I could be happy. All I really want is the excitement of first hearing The Byrds, the amazement of decades of Dylan's music, or the thrill of seeing a band like The Long Ryders live. That's not much to ask, is it?
