C.W. Stoneking has upcoming solo dates in UK.

Australian C.W. Stoneking made his UK impact with albums of voodoo and jungle blues drawing deeply on a pre-war sound, beefed up with a fine horn section and C.W.’s own playing of National guitar and banjo.  A man with tall tales to tell, and prepared to take the time to tell ’em he enthralled audiences.  And then he released ‘Gon’ Boogaloo’ which kicked the sound forward a couple of decades to a proto-rock and roll and  boogie blues, he toured the UK with an all girl band and brazenly eschewed his previous material informing audiences that he hated the f***ing banjo.  Strong words.

Rumour has it that he’s been working on  a new album, and fact has it that he’ll be touring the UK this summer as a solo performer.  What can you expect to hear?  How the hell would we know – we’d guess whatever C.W. decides to play, and we’ll guess no further.

Sure, I could climb high in a tree, or go to Skye on my holiday. I could be happy. All I really want is the excitement of first hearing The Byrds, the amazement of decades of Dylan's music, or the thrill of seeing a band like The Long Ryders live. That's not much to ask, is it?
