Danni Nicholls & Caleb Caudle announce January dates

UK singer-songwriter Danni Nicholls has announced that she’ll be joining forces with one of her US counterparts Caleb Caudle and performing a short double-header tour together in January, either side of the AmericanaFest 2019 where Caleb will be showcasing.
For Danni Nicholls, 2017 proved to be a fairly big year supporting Shakin’ Stevens on his 28 date major UK tour (Merry Christmas everyone!), opening for Lucinda Williams and playing at Cambridge Folk Festival, Tonder Festival, Denmark and showcasing at AmericanaFest in Nashville.

Her album ‘Mockingbird Lane’ was nominated Americana Music Association UK ‘UK Album of the Year 2017, Danni herself was nominated as AMAUK ‘UK Artist of the Year 2018’ and she has also been nominated on  the short-list for ‘Best Country/Folk Act’ for the 2018 Unsigned Music Awards. Nicholls has released two albums both of which were produced by bassist/producer Chris Donohue in Nashville TN and feature some fine musicians including the legendary Al Perkins (Bob Dylan, Gram Parsons, The Rolling Stones) Will Kimbrough (Jimmy Buffett, John Prine) and Steve Fishell (Willie Nelson, Linda Ronstadt).

Growing up in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, Caleb established himself as a songwriter and performer by the age of 15. His evolving sound incorporates all forms of American music, inspired heavily by his love of collecting vinyl. His latest album ‘Crushed Coins’ is a dark narrative about following the light at the end of the tunnel. “I think the overall theme of the record is trying to find hope in a dark place. It’s about relying on the people and the things you love.”

In 2012, he decided to quit his day job and focus solely on music — seven years and four albums later, NPR’s Ann Powers says, ”Caleb Caudle’s sound encompasses the wide expanse of America, as the best country rock always will.” He was featured on the Rolling Stone Country’s “10 Artists You Need To Know,” who dubbed Caleb’s sound as “The musical equivalent of high-proof bourbon – rich in flavor, with a subtle, satisfying bite.” The Washington Post suggests, “This is music to be listened to on a porch swing. A lot of it might have been written on one.” Caleb currently lives in Nashville, TN.
