Desert Blonde “It Ain’t Bad (To Be Alone)” – Listen

The funny thing about ‘It Ain’t Bad (to be Alone)‘ is that it was written in the Winter of 2019 as a reaction to city living and the hustle and bustle that that used to entail.  That’s right, this sardonic song is not a Covid-19 lockdown lament, although it perfectly fits that bill.  Oh, the irony.Zach Hinkle – who is Desert Blonde – explained how this happened:”I wrote this song before quarantine, during a time when the city felt totally overwhelming. I was able to escape that feeling by going to the park or spending an evening on my couch, and I thought about how nice it was to have some time to myself. It’s for all of the introverts out there. We’re all spending more time alone these days, so for anyone who’s having a hard time with that, maybe they’ll hear it and think things aren’t so bad.”

It Ain’t Bad (to be Alone)‘ comes from the upcoming EP ‘Live Slow Die Old’, which is out the end of October.

Sure, I could climb high in a tree, or go to Skye on my holiday. I could be happy. All I really want is the excitement of first hearing The Byrds, the amazement of decades of Dylan's music, or the thrill of seeing a band like The Long Ryders live. That's not much to ask, is it?
