Doc Watson’s “Life’s Work: A Retrospective” available for pre-order

Craft Recordings will release a career-spanning collection on CD and digital platforms on November 12th. The 101 track box set includes his best-known hits’ Intoxicated Rat‘, ‘Dock Boggs’ ‘Country Blues‘ and ‘Black Mountain Rag‘. ‘Tennessee Stud’. The compilation showcases his many collaborations. His participation on the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band’s 1972 album Will the Circle Be Unbroken’, his long partnership with son Merle, and many songs recorded with Alison Krauss, Chet Atkins, Bill Monroe and Ricky Skaggs. International Bluegrass Music Hall of Famer, who died in 2012, has influenced modern Americana, and this compendium is a tour of these roots.

Accompanying the 4-CD set is an 88-page book featuring extensive new liner notes by Grammy-nominated author and compilation co-producer Ted Olson, plus previously unseen photos.
