Dot Allison “Long Exposure” – Listen

Dot Allison’s new album, ‘Heart-shaped Scars‘, is her first in over a decade and finds her on a haunted folk path.   The new album is out on July 30th, but you can hear the first single right here and right now.  It’ll come as no surprise that Dot Allison acknowledges the influence of the sound track of ‘The Wickerman‘, as ‘Long Exposure‘ would be a perfect ethereal taunt for Edward Woodward.  Just to add to that imagery, Dot Allison first sang it live at a folk house-concert on the Hebridean island where she has a cottage.

Sure, I could climb high in a tree, or go to Skye on my holiday. I could be happy. All I really want is the excitement of first hearing The Byrds, the amazement of decades of Dylan's music, or the thrill of seeing a band like The Long Ryders live. That's not much to ask, is it?
