Drew Young “Wondering Where This Will End” – Listen

Not, as you might think, a song about these strange times, New Orleans singer-songwriter Drew Young is actually thinking about the strange times we used to have – you know, when you could meet people and a simple connection might go somewhere or nowhere or anywhere. It is a song that reflects on slowing down though, coincidental as that may now be, and was recorded not in New Orleans but in the sleepy Suffolk countryside as Drew explains “I recorded this song perched in a picturesque studio in the beautiful English countryside of Suffolk, UK. In between tea and cake with David Edward Booth, Kelly Bayfield, Kilbey Mears and Kevin Walford , we recorded this song in an afternoon. It was a magical recording experience and I do believe we channeled a wee bit of Nick Drake — with gentle guitars, wistful vocals, pensive lyrics. Just put on a kettle , relax and listen to the song on the wind.

Sure, I could climb high in a tree, or go to Skye on my holiday. I could be happy. All I really want is the excitement of first hearing The Byrds, the amazement of decades of Dylan's music, or the thrill of seeing a band like The Long Ryders live. That's not much to ask, is it?
