Ed Sweeney & Cathy Clasper-Torch “While My Guitar Gently Weeps” – that’s folk guitar

The quiet ones’ ‘White Album‘ classic is here re-imagined as a gentle acoustic guitar and fiddle instrumental featuring the guitar playing of Ed Sweeney and (yes you’ve guessed it) the fiddle playing of Cathy Clasper-Torch. She also plays the cello part.  It’s quite lovely.

Ed Sweeney has performed pretty much anywhere and everywhere – nationally in the USA and internationally. Ed has performed in schools, clubs, tea houses, festivals, house concerts, theatres – and his music can be heard in the Ken Burns documentary ‘Not for Ourselves Alone: The Story of Elizabeth Cady Stanton & Susan B. Anthony.

Cathy Clasper-Torch is a multi-instrumentalist (Violin/fiddle, cello and erhu) from Southern
New England. Cathy’s playing takes in classical, jazz and folk earning her gigs with various ensembles, but she loves to combine genres in her playing and improvising.

Sure, I could climb high in a tree, or go to Skye on my holiday. I could be happy. All I really want is the excitement of first hearing The Byrds, the amazement of decades of Dylan's music, or the thrill of seeing a band like The Long Ryders live. That's not much to ask, is it?
