Eliza Shaddad “Fine & Peachy” – only it isn’t, not at all

Eliza Shaddad’s new single is taken from her album ‘The Woman You Want‘, which is receiving great reviews all around.  Today’s song is a light and bouncy pop-folk track with a message in the lyrics which is impossible to miss.  Because, dear sensitive reader, the first word you’ll hear is “fuck“, and if that’s likely to offend then you’d probably better not listen to the rest where Eliza calls out liars, cheats, gas lighters and fake news pushers of this world: “instead of screwing with my head for days / Why so long to spit out what is on your mind? / I’m growing so sick of the ways in which you waste my time.”  But if you did skip past, then you’ll have missed out on a great song.

Eliza Shaddad will be on tour in November, the venues are mostly in the small and intimate category, so this could be a fine time to catch her before she steps up a notch on following tours.

Sure, I could climb high in a tree, or go to Skye on my holiday. I could be happy. All I really want is the excitement of first hearing The Byrds, the amazement of decades of Dylan's music, or the thrill of seeing a band like The Long Ryders live. That's not much to ask, is it?
