Exclusive AUK Mini-Gig: Ayo Bamidele

Through our occasional mini-gig series, we have been spreading a little light in a gloomy world.  As well as the joy of seeing different performers, it’s a way of connecting artists to listeners, both old and new.  As we head into another lockdown, that’s never been more important.  Today, we showcase the talents of Ayo Bamidele with a performance of ‘Daring to Be Free’.

The East London-based singer-songwriter is influenced by the likes of Neil Young, Bob Dylan, The Band and Wilco.  Such Americana sounds are made Bamidele’s own with his distinctive, soulful vocal.  After working with several bands, Bamidele has self-released 14 solo albums, the latest of which is ‘The Citadel’.  The new album, which was recorded all in one take, is stripped back, featuring just an acoustic guitar and Bamidele’s warm voice.  Find out more here and enjoy the show.
