Gateway to Southwell festival reveals first acts for 2022

The first artists for this summer’s 15th Gate To Southwell Festival in Nottinghamshire from July 14th to 17th have been announced. Rising star Katherine Priddy is performing at the festival for the first time, while Truckstop Combo and Le Vent Du Nord are welcome returning acts. Other stars for the British folk scene include Merry Hell, Black Water County, Peat and Diesel, and Dervish. The festival boasts a programme that provides for various performers from across the world. Australian vocal ensemble The Spooky Men’s Chorale will be representing the antipodes this year. Nine-times British Blues Awards winner, three-times European Blues Awards winner, and Mojo’s blues album of the year winner Ian Siegal will kick off the Festival on the 14th with what looks to be an excellent showcase of Blues. Daniel Smith Blues Band will be continuing this with their boogie-woogie piano. BBC Folk Award winners Greg Russell and Danny Pedlar will also be playing. Other acts announced include Noble Jacks, Pete Morton, Katie Spencer, Fritillaries, Helian, Huson-Whyte, Chris While and Julie Mathews, and Blackbeard’s Tea Party.

Tickets to the show can be bought on the festival website. Prices start at £110 for an adult weekend ticket, with camping charged £30 per pitch.
