Here comes another great UK americana festival, Stomp and Twang

As if we didn’t have enough good americana hitting our shores this year, news arrives today of another festival which will be landing in Cornwall from May 31st- June 2nd. ‘Stomp and Twang’ has a great line-up already, with a varied programme of americana music and culture which so far includes UK americana luminaries such as Yola (whose new album The Guardian recently described as “glorious, sun-soaked contentment”), Birds of Chicago, UK americana band of the year Bennett Wilson Poole, antipodean folkie Emily Barker, My Darling Clementine and up and coming UK talent including Lucas and the King, Emily Fae, Sadie Jemmett, Liam Jordan, The Hoodle and Slim Semora.

There are also acts from further afield including Austrian purveyor of alt-country Prinz Grizzley, and acclaimed artists from the blues, R&B, and Cajun genres including Johnny V Vernazza, Ian Dunlop, Mike Vernon and The Mighty Combo, The Cadillac Kings, Elvis Fontenot, and Bob Pruitt and The Kansas City Band.

The festival will take place two minutes from Falmouth’s famous beaches, nestled in the historical Gyllendune gardens at the Princess Pavilion. Stomp and Twang will take over the site providing entertainment on three stages, and as well as music, there will be authentic American food on offer. Locally sourced produce will include BBQ, gumbo, jambalaya, crawfish, as well as veggie and vegan options. They’ll have a craft beer tent and Tennessee Whiskey bar, a market place and café, and they will be offering workshops for adults and children who want to learn to dance, write a song, or simply enjoy an artist in discussion, as they talk about their own particular creative journey. The venue is minutes away from dozens of hotels, B&B’s, air B&B’s, and camp sites, and public transport links to the venue are also nearby.

You can get Early Bird tickets now from their website here for just £61 for the weekend – further information is on their site too.
