Jo Schornikow “Martingale” – Listen

Jo Schornikow, who has previously played piano in Phosphorescent, has an album of her own out called ‘Secret Weapon.’  It’s strikingly original with dark shades on songs such as ‘Martingale‘.  She has said of the song “this one is about taking a gamble on someone or something, and how personal insecurities can lead to lowering your standards, and hoping for things so much so that even when odds are stacked against something working out, you can’t stop trying.”  It sounds incredible, and will likely stick with you for days.

Sure, I could climb high in a tree, or go to Skye on my holiday. I could be happy. All I really want is the excitement of first hearing The Byrds, the amazement of decades of Dylan's music, or the thrill of seeing a band like The Long Ryders live. That's not much to ask, is it?
