Joey Harkum “Sick And Tired” – Enough, already

Joey Harkum is finding life a struggle on this new song: “we scrape to get by but reach for stars / Sleep in our houses but live at the bar” he sings for openers before adding “I’m all out of answers I’m just not sure / I wish you the best but I can not help you any more / And I’ve come to realise that I’m just as lost as you.”

This modern folksong comes from the Maryland singer’s new album ‘Salt and Tar‘, and is, he says, an exploration of his “roots as a blue collar worker trying to get by and holding on to the “small pleasures” that make life worth living.”

Sure, I could climb high in a tree, or go to Skye on my holiday. I could be happy. All I really want is the excitement of first hearing The Byrds, the amazement of decades of Dylan's music, or the thrill of seeing a band like The Long Ryders live. That's not much to ask, is it?
