Kathryn Rose Wood “Anything But The Truth” – Listen

We already know that Kathryn Rose Wood spares herself nothing when it comes to songwriting – her debut album dealt with what can only be imagined to be one of the hardest topics to address.  So it’s no surprise that this new song from the New Orleans based singer is equally honest.

Anything but the Truth‘ addresses a break-up, and the disproportionate assumptions of fault, and where and with whom it lies.  As she sings “My good name will never be the same, while you get away without any blame.”  It’s a song that challenges the singer to open their eyes and admit that their burst bubble of happiness was an illusion for a long time.

Sure, I could climb high in a tree, or go to Skye on my holiday. I could be happy. All I really want is the excitement of first hearing The Byrds, the amazement of decades of Dylan's music, or the thrill of seeing a band like The Long Ryders live. That's not much to ask, is it?
