Kenny Roby “New Day” – the future starts…now

Kenny Roby was a founder member of 6 String Drag, and was principal frontman and singer with that band.  He has a self-titled solo album coming out on Royal Potato Family on August 5th,and this is the second single from it.  It’s an old song given a new makeover as Roby explains: “This song was originally written in 2004 and released on my 2006 record ‘The Mercy Filter.’ I decided to cut it again on this record with a different feel, arrangement and with some changes in the melody.  Amy Helm came in and added gospel flavoured vocals which lifts up the choruses beautifully. This song still resonates with me after all these years. New beginnings. Rebirth of mind and spirit. It’s never too late start over and try things a different way.”

New Day’ features Roby’s band comprised by guitarist Dan Littleton, bassist Jeff Hill and drummer Tony Leone with special guests Amy Helm on vocals and harmonica by the legendary John Sebastian.

Sure, I could climb high in a tree, or go to Skye on my holiday. I could be happy. All I really want is the excitement of first hearing The Byrds, the amazement of decades of Dylan's music, or the thrill of seeing a band like The Long Ryders live. That's not much to ask, is it?
