Kilkenny Roots Festival announces line-up for 2019

The multiple award-winning songwriter Patty Griffin, legendary Texan roots rocker Alejandro Escovedo and former Grandaddy frontman Jason Lytle are heading up what can only be described as a fairly stellar line-up for the 2019 Kilkenny Roots Festival which takes place over the first Bank Holiday weekend in May (3rd – 6th) at numerous venues around the marble city.
Long regarded as one of the world’s finest roots festivals, for this their 22nd year the bill also includes The Delines, featuring ex-Richmond Fontainer Willy Vlautin, Canada’s  The Sadies,  Joey Landreth from the Brothers Landreth, and returning to the festival Nashville’s Robbie Fulks. The UK-based trio William The Conqueror make their festival debut, alongside  singer-songwriters  Dori Freeman and  Michael McDermott.  The bill is completed with  River Whyless,  The Accidentals, and South Carolina’s  SUSTO.

The festival also boasts a ‘Free Trail’ where a number of bands play free shows around the city over the weekend.  Tickets are available now from kilkennyroots.com
