Listen to an unreleased Tom Petty track from the Wildflower sessions

The end of last year saw the release of ‘Wildflowers & All the Rest’ which featured numerous home recordings and alternate takes from the original 1994 album from Tom Petty. If that’s not enough for your completist genes, next month (April 16th to be precise) sees the release of the Super Deluxe edition of ‘…All the Rest’ with a double LP release following on May 7th.

From that collection, ‘You Saw Me Comin’, a previously unreleased song and recording from 1992 and the final track on the collection, has been released online alongside a video directed by Joel Kazuo Knoernschild and Katie Malia. Reflecting upon recording the song for ‘Wildflowers’, the Heartbreakers’ Benmont Tench notes: “There’s this kind of longing in the song, in the way that he wrote the chord structure, the melody and the lyrics. It’s wistful, and it would have been the perfect way to end the disc.”
