Singer-songwriter and upright bassist Melissa Carper has announced a short UK tour with four dates starting in Glasgow in mid-June. The delayed tour promotes her most recent album ‘Ramblin’ Soul‘ which came out last year. Reviewer Tim Martin said of the album, “While the publicity makes a lot of her Western Swing and Old time Country roots, it’s her adoption of a wide range of American music styles that make this album worth spending time on. As she says in the closing tune, ‘Hanging on to You’ “They don’t make them like they used to” Thankfully Melissa Carper does.“.

On her upcoming tour, Carper said, “I’m so looking forward to playing in the UK where I know the audiences are very enthusiastic about Americana music. It’s been almost 15 years since I’ve been over there and performed with a group called The Maybelle’s and I’m super excited to be going over this time to do some co-bills with the incredible Willi Carlisle and to play Black Deer festival, which I have heard such great things about.“.

Tour dates:

13/06 – Glasgow – Oran Mor
14/06 – Carlisle – Castle Hotel
15/06 – London – The Slaughtered Lamb
16/06 – Tonbridge Wells – Black Deer Festival

You can buy advance tickets to the show on the artist’s website.
