Micah P. Hinson has new album & a UK tour in 2017

A few years ago, after several well received albums it seemed as if Micah P. Hinson was more interested in political commentary rather than finely crafted songs.  We’ll draw a veil over his strange opinions on universal health care provision,  and similarly neglect to comment on his characterising President Obama as the murderer of the American Dream and just note that thankfully Micah P. Hinson returns in 2017 with a new album.  He has described Micah P Hinson Presents The Holy Strangers as being a “modern folk opera”.  It tells the story of a war time family, going from birth to love, to marriage and children, to war and betrayal, murder to suicide – spanning all of the strange and glorious places life can lead.

Two years in the making, Micah wrote and recorded The Holy Strangers in Denison, Texas, incorporating ancient reel to reels, analogue keyboards, old Tascam and Yamaha desks. The recording only entered the digital realm once pre-mastering took place. The album is released on the 8th of September, and less than two weeks later Micah P. Hinson will bring a full band with him to launch the UK leg of his European tour.
There’s a taster of the new album available to listen to now, with two tracks – Lover’s Lane and The Years Tire On – available to preview on Soundcloud.

Sure, I could climb high in a tree, or go to Skye on my holiday. I could be happy. All I really want is the excitement of first hearing The Byrds, the amazement of decades of Dylan's music, or the thrill of seeing a band like The Long Ryders live. That's not much to ask, is it?
