Nathan Kalish “Songs For Nobody” – Listen

Things are not going right for Nathan Kalish as he freely admits, singing “My career is like an accident” on this rocking cut from his new album also called ‘Songs for Nobody‘, which will be out on April 10th.  It’s worse than that – he’s even unlucky in love: “Maybe if I wasn’t dead inside I would stay with you the rest of my life / But I’m just passing by playing songs for nobody“.  It’s sad, but it sounds like a mini-riot at the same time .

Nathan Kalish has had a wandering life since his childhood which saw him drag his boot-heels around parts of Europe behind his evangelical missionary father.  As an adult and back in the USA he’s been in several bands, has recorded ten albums and has for many years toured relentlessly.  A quick listen to ‘Songs for Nobody‘ is enough to show that Nathan Kalish fits easily into the Americana sub-genre we call NWOAHT – that’s New Wave Of American Honky-Tonkers in case you’re not hip to the label – alongside the likes of JP Hariss.  Enjoy!

Sure, I could climb high in a tree, or go to Skye on my holiday. I could be happy. All I really want is the excitement of first hearing The Byrds, the amazement of decades of Dylan's music, or the thrill of seeing a band like The Long Ryders live. That's not much to ask, is it?
