Robert Plant & Alison Krauss “Go Your Way” – We part, and I’m OK with that

So, the golden god and the goddess of Bluegrass – and this single is taken from the pair’s second album ‘Raise the Roof‘ which we note has sold an impressive 150,000 copies. And there’s also an extensive tour staring June 1st – admittedly all across the USA.  Oh well.  Maybe Europe later.

If memory serves (and it does) the last song from the album that we featured was Bert Jansch’s ‘It Don’t Bother Me‘, so how appropriate that we should now be featuring the pair’s take on an Anne Briggs song?  And hat’s off to Plant for another excellent pick.  Naturally this is a musically much fuller version than the stark and haunting original.  I mean, yes, it’s lovely.  We love the album, it is really great.  It really is.  But hey…take a look at this as well.  Yeah, you, me, Robert and Alison would all agree on that.

Sure, I could climb high in a tree, or go to Skye on my holiday. I could be happy. All I really want is the excitement of first hearing The Byrds, the amazement of decades of Dylan's music, or the thrill of seeing a band like The Long Ryders live. That's not much to ask, is it?
