Seafarers “And Maybe I’m Scared” – Listen

Seafarers are not your typical Scottish folk band.  Maybe that’s because Glasgow-born saxophonist and songwriter Matthew Herd formed Seafarers in 2013 during his studies at the Royal Academy of Music – and then went touring extensively around the globe with renowned jazz artists.  Or maybe it’s the crunch of guitar from Innes White that is balanced by piano from Tom Taylor and the crystal clear vocals  of Lauren Kinsella.  Perhaps it’s the anchoring drums of Dave Hamblett. The only way to find out is to listen. The group have spent three years putting together the album ‘Orlando‘ which is out this Autumn, whilst the single ‘And Maybe I’m Scared‘ emerged at the end of July.

Sure, I could climb high in a tree, or go to Skye on my holiday. I could be happy. All I really want is the excitement of first hearing The Byrds, the amazement of decades of Dylan's music, or the thrill of seeing a band like The Long Ryders live. That's not much to ask, is it?
