Something for the weekend: Jason McNiff “Dust of Yesterday”

Well that’s it for us for another week dear reader. We leave you with the beautiful opening track from the new album by longtime AUK favourite Jason McNiff ‘Dust of Yesterday’ which is out today. His 7th full-length album, it was recorded throughout the summer and autumn of 2020 in producer Roger Askew’s home studio in Eastbourne, and features McNiff’s signature acoustic guitar work throughout with significant contributions from Beth Porter (of Eliza Carthy’s band) on cello and Basia Bartz (Dana Immanuel, Rob Corcoran) on violin. Despite the year, it doesn’t sound like a lockdown record. We’ll have our review of it up soon but in the meantime you could do worse this weekend than block the world out for 45 minutes and listen to the whole thing. Have a good one.
