Steep Canyon Rangers “It Ain’t Me” – this is not a cover, so Listen

If you’re imagining there should be a “babe” at the end of that song title then, this time, it’s not the case.  The Steep Canyon Ranger’s new single is almost the mirror image of Dylan’s song, on ‘It ain’t me‘ it’s more of an urgent plea for a partner to see the person they’re living with, and not continue a drift away from them.

It’s The Steep Canyon Rangers, so the playing is spot on – and lead singer Woody Platt’s vocals have an exhausted beaten down desperation to them that perfectly fit the lyrics.

Sure, I could climb high in a tree, or go to Skye on my holiday. I could be happy. All I really want is the excitement of first hearing The Byrds, the amazement of decades of Dylan's music, or the thrill of seeing a band like The Long Ryders live. That's not much to ask, is it?
