Stephen Jacques “Send Them Love” – it’s what everyone wants

Stephen Jacques is a self-confessed night owl, who, growing up in Richmond, Virginia,  took in all the rock he could find whether it be via TV shows like Johnny Carson and  Saturday Night Live or through the fully lived live gig.  His Italian grandfather from the New York City area was a multi-instrumentalist during the roaring 20’s and his Aunt Carole was a fine singer herself- his French side hailing from New Orleans. At 16 he learned his first chords on a Yamaha acoustic from his Beatles’ fan friend David Wood.  But whilst music was there it was a career in engineering and building that beckoned.

In 2010 thought the real estate building came to a stop – with a few hours in the afternoon free his first Album ‘Intrepid Souls‘ was recorded-produced by Charlottesville, VA’s Mark Graham of The Sound Studios. And the music just rolled from there – either under the band name Box of Moxie or solo as Stephen Jacques.  Today’s song is the title track of his latest solo album, and he’s already in the studio working on album number twelve to be released next year.

Sure, I could climb high in a tree, or go to Skye on my holiday. I could be happy. All I really want is the excitement of first hearing The Byrds, the amazement of decades of Dylan's music, or the thrill of seeing a band like The Long Ryders live. That's not much to ask, is it?
