Track Premiere : Albi & The Wolves “I’d Go Anywhere”

New Zealand’s Albi & The Wolves –  that’s Chris Dent, Pascal Roggen and Micheal Young- show a softer side on their new single, the second from the new album ‘This is War‘ which is out today.  The soft folk duet, with the big booming upright bass, is disarmingly romantic, with a lot of the sweetness provided by guest singer Amy Maynard (of New Zealand folk duo Looking For Alaska).

Naturally there’s also a bittersweet element to ‘I’d go Anywhere‘ as it reflects on the range of emotions that are brought up by the realization that love, like life, is fleeting.   But it’s the intertwining vocal harmonies that linger in the memory.

Sure, I could climb high in a tree, or go to Skye on my holiday. I could be happy. All I really want is the excitement of first hearing The Byrds, the amazement of decades of Dylan's music, or the thrill of seeing a band like The Long Ryders live. That's not much to ask, is it?
