Track Premiere: Dusty Wright “Lonelyville”

It’s certainly great to premiere the new song from Dusty Wright, which is also the title track of his new album which is out in April on Petrock.  It finds the NYC/East Chatham based singer/songwriter, who has a 3-decade career on the New York music scene, contemplating the ways that we deal with loneliness.  It was prompted in part by the pandemic, as Dusty explains: “This album started out with the song ‘To Find Love’ during the height of the pandemic. As I started down the path of writing material for a new album, the concept of isolation became an underlying narrative for many of the songs. Moreover, each song represents a different voice of those who inhabit any ‘Lonelyville’ whether by choice or necessity.

The song, like the album, is solidly americana, with liberal amounts of ‘60s Crossover Country and ’80s REM style indie.  Just the way we like it.

Sure, I could climb high in a tree, or go to Skye on my holiday. I could be happy. All I really want is the excitement of first hearing The Byrds, the amazement of decades of Dylan's music, or the thrill of seeing a band like The Long Ryders live. That's not much to ask, is it?
