Tyler Edwards “Highway Dust” – Hearts in motion

Tyler Edwards may have begun his career with the South Carolina rock band, I Anthem, achieving several releases and songs breaking the Top 10 on Billboard’s Rock Charts, but it is his latest solo release which concerns us today.  ‘Highway Dust‘ is the deeply swooning new single from Tyler Edwards’ new album ‘A Falling Sky,’ – it’s his second full solo album release coming a little over six years from his debut ‘Too Young for Love‘.  At the time of recording ‘Too Young for Love‘, Tyler Edwards was based in Seattle, selling out local clubs and opening for the likes of  Ian Noe and Will Hoge.

Recorded over four years, ‘A Falling Sky‘  saw Tyler working with longtime friend and producer Jim Stephens to make sure each song held up through a pandemic, distance, and remote recording.  This collaborative effort also enlisted mixing by Neil Hampton to mix the majority of the album, while featuring additional mixing by Ryan Freeland (Ray LaMontagne, Bonnie Raitt, The Barr Brothers), and mastering work by Kim Rosen (Aimee Mann, Rhiannon Giddens, The Milk Carton Kids, The Avett Bros).

Sure, I could climb high in a tree, or go to Skye on my holiday. I could be happy. All I really want is the excitement of first hearing The Byrds, the amazement of decades of Dylan's music, or the thrill of seeing a band like The Long Ryders live. That's not much to ask, is it?
