Video: Drew Holcomb & The Neighbors “Fly”

Here is a gorgeous new song from East Nashville’s Drew Holcomb & The Neighbors.  In ‘Fly’, Holcomb’s gently rhythmic guitar is warm and absorbing, over which he delivers an outstanding, rich vocal.  His tone is full of character and his voice winds through a delightful melody, especially beautiful when it smoothly drops to find those lower notes.  Lyrically, Holcomb essentially sings his way through an intriguing list that creates a sense of both time passing and togetherness.  It’s a well-crafted song that brings a welcome dose of positivity.

The single is taken from forthcoming full-length album ‘Strangers No More’, which is due out on 7th June.  This is the follow up to 2019’s ‘Dragons’, a tuneful, engaging album that featured co-writes with Lori McKenna, The Lone Bellow, and Natalie Hemby.  This time around, Holcomb has, once again, sought out excellent collaborators, including Ketch Secor (Old Crow Medicine Show), K.S. Rhoads and producer Cason Cooley with Hemby also  making another appearance.  The new record covers a broad range of themes from friendship to death, the stuff of life, and Holcomb describes these tales as, “…the kind of specific that applies to everyone. There’s a longer list of characters this time.”  Enjoy.
