Check out ‘Sunshine City’, the second single from Elles Bailey’s forthcoming album.  Featuring grooving guitar and a driving rhythm, this is an upbeat song designed to get you dancing.  It’s a vibe reinforced by the video, in which Bailey and her friends dance in the sunshine on the streets of Bristol.  Bailey’s music frequently crosses genres and ‘Sunshine City’ is one of her rockier songs, guaranteed to get you moving.

Bailey says of the song and video: “I know I’ve said it before but ‘Sunshine City’ isn’t supposed to take itself too seriously; it’s about letting your hair down, putting on your fancy shoes, gathering your friends together and revelling in a little bit of hedonism. So, to make the video, we did just that! I got my friends Lady Nade, Holly Dean Revington and Bexx out for a day partying in Bristol and George Montague followed us around with his camera. The video features some of my favourite spots from my hometown: Uncle Sam’s Vintage Store, The Broken Dock, & The Bristol Fringe.  I’m delighted we also managed to rope co-writer Matt Owens (of Noah and the Whale) in for a cameo on the guitar, and a huge shout-out to Tristan Brightman and The Bristol Blues Dancing Society for cutting some shapes on the docks!”

The new album, ‘Shining in the Half Light’ is due out early in 2022.  In the meantime, Bailey has put together four songs, including ‘Sunshine City’, on a limited edition CD, available from her website and at her shows throughout the autumn.  During November and December, the Sunshine City Tour will see the award-winning artist visit venues throughout the UK, details here.  Now, wacth the video and get dancing.
