Here is the first original single release of 2021 from the Minneapolis-based Kung Fu Hippies. Their homegrown brand of Americana rock is infectious, with a rhythmic acoustic strum and strong percussion and bass lines driving the song on. The self-styled ‘Spaghetti Northern’ is designed to bring a little happiness and hope and when Brad Ray, with his impassioned vocal, sings: “Hello Northwoods boy // You sing a song of joy,” you can’t help but be on their side. The veteran rockers have been around for twenty years, having played their first show in the year 2000. Still going strong, the band are looking forward to releasing their next studio album later this year. Enjoy.
