Video Premiere: Luke Winslow-King “Watch Me Change”

Start your week with the premiere for Luke Winslow-King’s latest single ‘Watch Me Change’.  This is the sort of song that makes you want to move, to tap your feet, to nod your head, to dance; the fabulous groove is smoothly, but urgently, rhythmic.   It slowly builds into an utterly hypnotic driving blues, over which Winslow-King delivers his distinctive, gravelly vocal.  An atmospheric guitar solo grows organically out of the song and takes us to the end of a captivating piece.  Winslow-King’s sound manages to feel both traditionally familiar and yet fresh and different at the same time.  The video was directed and co-edited by Winslow-King, working alongside Carlos Lorrando, who provided shooting and co-editing duties.  The swift, blurring motion of Winslow-King playing is interspersed with industrial imagery and it all adds effectively to the sense of urgency.

The song offers a fresh take on love and the changes we make to be accepted and to be our best selves for those we care for.  It’s about stripping away layers and exploring your innermost self to discover how far you would transform yourself for love?

Previously, Winslow-King has recorded with the likes of George Porter Jr. and Little Freddy King.  However, the prolific writer strikes out powerfully on his own, here.  The single is taken from Winslow-King’s seventh album ‘If These Walls Could Talk’, which is due for release on 6th May.  Fans over in the USA can catch him on his first American tour for a couple of years, beginning with dates in Florida in May.  Check him out if you can.  In the meantime, get moving to ‘Watch Me Change’.
