Video Premiere: StevieRay Latham “Madeline”

We are pleased to premiere the gentle, dreamy new single from StevieRay Latham.  This deeply personal song is taken from Latham’s brand new EP, ‘Nomads of Industrial Suburbia’.  The EP was Latham’s first experience of recording in a full studio at Saunton Road Studios in his hometown in Devon.  The result is a more adventurous, varied, expansive sound than previous home-recordings.    Latham says: “I wrote ‘Madeline’ a long time ago, camping in the woods outside Hossegor, but I only got around to recording it recently. In the early stages of recording the EP, we rented a big abandoned house out in France for a month to write and demo some tracks. This was the first take, with a potato peeler used as a shaker. When I got into the studio and listened over the demos with Mark Aubrey, my producer, he just said, “that’s the take” so he mixed that take and it ended up on the EP.”  StevieRay Latham is an upcoming folk talent and certainly one to watch.
