Video Premiere: SUNFLOWER “Get Yourself Together” Exclusive Live Video

We are delighted to share an exclusive live performance video of ‘Get Yourself Together’ from SUNFLOWER, which was recorded at a charity event in aid of ‘Support Act’.  The organisation aims to provide much-needed funds for fellow musicians and music industry professionals in Australia; giving a helping hand to those in the industry who need it has never been more necessary.  Established in 1998 as a crisis relief charity fund, ‘Support Act’ has recently announced a Covid-19 Emergency Appeal with a target of $20 million for those in the industry affected financially by the pandemic.  Find out more about their work here.

This is SUNFLOWER’s second single and the follow-up to the highly-regarded ‘Better Days’.  Directed by Alec Schultz (Thor, Pirates of the Caribbean, Aqua Man, and the new Elvis film), the official video for ‘Get Yourself Together’ is an artfully nostalgic narrative that resonates emotionally long after viewing.  The song itself is an example of fine songcraft and showcases the excellent vocal combination of the bluesy Kahlia Ferguson and co-lead Lawson Doyle, both of whom also play guitar.  The pair met at Bluesfest 2019 (back when festivals were a thing…) and alongside Dave Webster (lead guitar), Sam Woods (bass) and his brother, Luke Woods (drums), they are quickly becoming known for their brand of melodic, soulful rock.  Expect a traditional upbeat acoustic sound – perfect for summer – with lovely harmonies.  Find out more here.

‘Get Yourself Together’ is about trying to find your way after losing sight of who you are.  Ferguson explains: “We’ve all had times in our lives when push has come to shove and we know it’s time to get our shit together. This song was written as an anthem for the typical 20-something-year-old struggling to get their life back on track. I think every one of us can relate to that universal feeling of that push to stop messing around. That push can come in the form of an event or a relationship or an opportunity. The world is moving so fast and we’re all just trying to find our feet in it.”

Prior to the lockdown, the band was developing a reputation as as a powerful live act, so we are proud to share this exclusive performance.
