A Forum Farewell
Can I, on behalf of the team at Americana-UK, say a heartfelt thank you to each and everybody who participated in these forums by engaging and contributing in the various discussions. We used to have an active forum a long, long time ago which was very succesful and thought that now would be the best time to revive it back to what we hoped would be a new halcyon era. Sadly – for various complex reasons – this has proven not to be the case. In the intricate world of internet magazine publishing decisions have to made about what is working very successfully and what is successful but performing to a lesser extent. Its brutal out there and if any part of our site isn’t ‘earning its keep’ then we have no choice but to make bold and sometimes tragic choices. These Forums are a case in point. We’ve loved having everybody here and, again, a thank you to each and all of you.
Obviously the main site will continue as normal and in fact goes from strength to strength. Readership levels are something we could only dream about back in the day. Our truly international reach and engagement is humbling to us a ‘not for profit’ outfit staffed by men and women whose love for the music is their only motivating factor.
But here in this little backwater of this amazing website we are closing the door and concentrating our efforts towards other areas. Don’t forget that it is possible to comment on any content of the site via a simple registration process. Also we have a healthy social media presence and if all else fails check out the “Contact Us” information and send us something.
