Folk-americana band Night Flight will release their new album “Exit Stage Left” on 14th November 2025 on LP, CD & Digital formats on Roof Jump Records via Kartel Music Group.   It’s the follow-up to 2023’s “Songs From Echo Zoo” which AUK reviewed saying “Beautiful vocals contrast against folk-laden indie…a band with a true identity.” 8/10). “Exit Stage Left” marks the beginning of a new chapter for Night Flight, who now consist of the songwriting duo of Harry Phillips and Sam Holmes (lead vocals, guitar, keyboards) after slimming down from a four-piece.

“Exit Stage Left” contains ten tracks containing shades of influences from The Band to Big Star, Nick Drake to Elliott Smith, tied together with a wry humour as Holmes and Phillips chronicle the ups and downs of love and life through their twenties into their thirties. Recorded between Echo Zoo Studios, 123 Studios, and Fish Factory Studios, the album was produced and engineered by Caradog Jones and mixed and mastered in upstate New York by D. James Goodwin.

As dedicated as they are to their craft, the cold financial realities of the music industry in 2025 have made it impossible for Holmes and Phillips to make a living solely from Night Flight so they kept their day jobs; Holmes as a restaurant supervisor while Phillips works at an e-bike factory. Continuing the band has meant sacrifices, financial and personal, but both men feel compelled to create music, hooked on the thrill of a new line or harmony. “There is this thing that sits inside me when I’m writing,” Holmes says. “If I hit upon it, where I go somewhere that feels new and I don’t think it’s already been done, then I’ll follow it, and I’ll keep following it. And if I keep following it and it ends up in a finished song, then that’s the best feeling of all.”

The latest single ‘Forget You’, which features backing vocals from Hohnen Ford is a rumination, the anxiety of trying to forget and move on laying underneath the melody’s rise and fall. Night Flight have released a live performance video recorded at Fish Factory Studios, which you can watch below.
