Alabama 3, the legendary band from Brixton, South London have announced their new single ’The Girl With Lampedusa In Her Eyes’. The new track is lifted from their incoming new album ‘Cold War Classics Vol.2’ which lands tomorrow (Nov 3rd) via Submarine Cat Records. The track hears the band at their mournful best, opening with harrowing voices, rolling into a swirling musical backdrop and their thought-provoking lyrics, laced with social and political commentary. “I fucking hated Brexit, and what it did to our country. I wanted to take on that far right assumption that we’re all under attack from immigrants” commented Rob Spragg on his thoughts behind the song.
The incendiary, politically-charged new album ‘Cold War Classics Vol.2’ was co-produced by Danton Supple and Greg Fleming and promises to take fans on a musical journey back in time, to the era of mutually assured destruction and pre-glasnost paranoia. Alabama 3 will follow the album release with an extensive UK tour bringing their electrifying live performances to fans across the country. Love says, “Come and get yourself in the party mood before the bomb goes off.” Fans can expect “a wild and unforgettable experience at Alabama 3’s live shows, filled with their signature blend of acid house, country, and geo-political humour.” Full tour dates here and look out for a review of the album here on AUK soon.
