Joe Brown was always on tour with his ‘bruvvers’ when treading the boards and hence the leap into the arms of the wonderful Montreal-based combo The Barr Brothers with this redemptive track from their wonderful 2014 album ‘Sleeping Operator’. The video is strangely moving but that could just be the fact that I have been locked in a room for the past few days suffering from the feverish peaks and troughs of Covid.
OK I love this song, and maybe it’s just me, but if you’re going to title a track “Come in the Water,” maybe you have an obligation to not include a line like “The water will take our load.” Ewwww.
