Lake Street Dive, the Boston soul-flecked americana band, has announced the release of a new album ‘Good Together’ via Fantasy Records on 21st June 2024 along with a series of dates in the UK and Europe in January and February next year.

On ‘Good Together’, Lake Street Dive show “a renewed sense of purpose”, described as “joyful rebellion”, “looking to promote our shared humanity against the social divisions afflicting so many societies.”

“There’s a lot to be angry about in the world right now, a lot of pain and rage and divisiveness, but it isn’t sustainable to constantly live in that anger—you need something else to keep you going”, says drummer Mike Calabrese. “Joy is a great way to sustain yourself, and we wanted to encourage everyone to stay aware of that. In a way this album is our way of saying, ‘Take your joy very seriously.’”

The album finds Lake Street Dive working once more with producer Mike Elizondo.  For the first time all the members of the band collaborated in the earliest stages of songwriting together, creating a unique approach to the sessions. “At first it was terrifying to write together in the same room”, says frontwoman Rachel Price. “But as soon as we got started it felt so fun. We very quickly realized, ‘Oh, we need to do this again and again.’”

They have just released the third single ‘Twenty-Five’, an ode to youth and first loves.  It features Price’s distinctive voice accompanied only by an understated piano from Akie Bermiss.  Bassist /vocalist Bridget Kearney sees the song as a tender reflection on a great love that burned bright. “I thought that was a beautiful sentiment, but it also ties into the theme of the album and the whole question of, ‘How can we as a species continue to love one another, in spite of all the challenges we face?’”
