2025 Grammy Americana Award winners announced

Unless you’ve been living under a rock (and we do have some crabs as readers, you are very welcome around these parts) you’ll know that the Grammys took place in LA on Sunday evening which were a rather more subdued affair due to recent events but as part of the lesser publicised award winners on the evening, and highlighting some of the interesting demarcation in terms of which categories they put particular artists in, Gillian Welch and David Rawlings walked away with the best Folk album for “Woodland” and Sierra Ferrell walked away with no less than 4 roots and Americana awards. It’s also worth noting that Kacey Musgraves won best country song for the exquisite “The Architect” which was very well deserved. No room for Hurray For The Riff Raff – The Past Is Still Alive anywhere! No Phosphorescent – Revelator either! Just another bogus, sham industry(?) awards event – GET RID OF THEM!
