Well that’s it for another week dear reader – do make sure you don’t walk under any grand pianos being hoisted today. We leave you with a new clip of a cover version of the Dire Straits classic ‘Tunnel of Love’ by longtime friend of AUK Jason McNiff. Jason told us: “I have loved this Dire Straits song since time immemorial. I used to walk to school with it blasting my ears off and I think the touch of noise induced hearing loss that I know have can be attributed to that guitar solo at the end. There’s often a root of folk and country in Mark Knopfler’s songs and it’s fun to strip away the 80s production and play it very straight and simple and let the lyrics shine through.” Amen to that Jason – it makes an already outstanding song fly. Check out the studio version too on Jason’s latest album ‘Tonight We Ride’.
You can catch Jason if you’re a soft southerner (oj, we love soft southerners) on an array of dates over the next few weeks which you can find below the video – and hey if you’re oop north you can settle in with your favourite beverage for a Facebook show on 16th February. Have a good one.
