Wildrado, Ken Pomeroy and James McAlister “Wall Of Death” – Listen

Not just any old cover of the Richard Thompson song – this version is taken from the new hit film ‘Twisters’ – where it appears in a brief campfire scene in the film.  And not only that – it is also on the Movie Soundtrack Album alongside what we can only describe as a whole host of Americana friendly artists.  And Shania Twain.  ‘Wall Of Death‘ takes on a new poignancy as it serenades a bunch of stupid fearless storm chasers after the thrill of facing up to a tornado and living to tell the tale.  Or not, there are minor, more disposable, characters in the film after all.

And what’s the movie like?  Americana UK’s film critic told us: “Silly, but quite fun.”  Pithy and not unanticipated to be honest.

Sure, I could climb high in a tree, or go to Skye on my holiday. I could be happy. All I really want is the excitement of first hearing The Byrds, the amazement of decades of Dylan's music, or the thrill of seeing a band like The Long Ryders live. That's not much to ask, is it?
