The Delines “The Meter Keeps Ticking” – trepidation, indecision

We can keep this short and sweet today, ‘cos we all know The Delines and the important thing for most people is going to be just how much text they need to scroll through before they et to hit the play button for this new song from the soon-to-be-released album The Set Up (it is out on 6th March via Decor Records).  But we do feel that we ought to give you the lowdown on the song that The Delines say is their favourite on the new release, and since it’s a Willy Vlautin-penned number you can probably guess that underneath the uptempo light feeling tune there’s a darker twist, as he explains: “A woman is visiting her husband in a mental hospital. Her husband is no longer the man she once knew, and the song takes place as she realizes she can’t get out of the taxi to go inside. It’s the most poppy song on the record and the band’s favourite.

We should probably remind you that the tour is not only coming soon, but it is also selling fast.  Here are the dates and availability status:

Sure, I could climb high in a tree, or go to Skye on my holiday. I could be happy. All I really want is the excitement of first hearing The Byrds, the amazement of decades of Dylan's music, or the thrill of seeing a band like The Long Ryders live. That's not much to ask, is it?
