Stars and Rabbit are an Indonesian duo hailing from Yogyakarta. The group consists of singer-songwriter Elda Suryani and arranger Adi Widodo. Their music is a melding of pop and folk influences with a raw simplicity of composition, arrangement and performance.
Can you tell us about yourself? Where you’re from and what you’ve been up to over the past few years?
Adi: Hi I’m adi, I’m a guitaris of Stars and Rabbit, I was born in Riau, Sumatara. Now I live in jakarta. I’m a freelance worker, I write music for Production houses, and of course I’m playing in Stars and Rabbit as a full time musician.
Elda: Hai, I’m Elda, the singer and songwriter. A Gemini who was born in Surabaya Indonesia but currently live between Jakarta and Yogyakarta. I’ve been focusing on Stars and Rabbit in the past 5 years. But I also have a decoration business (for party, event or wedding) with my friends in Jogja. And I make crafty stuff (wall hangings and necklaces).
How would you describe your music?
Elda: Imagine you are driving in the night, looking for your favourite place (or any place that’s calling you. in my case is Paddy Field to just sit and get swayed by gazing at the stars and rabbit on the moon.
Adi: To me, Stars and Rabbit’s sound is like part of my life, means that it comes from my experience about life itself.
Can you tell us a little bit about your influences?
Adi: I love ambience music and movie soundtracks.
Elda: Soo many. Everything that caught my eyes, my ears, my mind and my heart all at once. While reading a book or watching movies or listening to music that gives me shiver or simply just being in nature.
What are you currently promoting?
Elda: The good energy of the music
Adi: Constellation album.
Have you got a particular song you’ve done that you’re particularly proud of, one that might define you?
Adi: Yes, the song is “Man Upon The Hill”
Elda: Each song defines each side of me. It’s kinda hard for me to choose one. Proud of them all

What are your hopes for your future career?
Elda: Traveling with my music and spread the magic as far as it can gets.
Adi: I hope can make many albums and tours in my career.
If money were no object what would be your dream project?
Adi: I want build a football club with big stadium and there have guitar store and good recording studio where you can find everything there.
Elda: Making a proper solo concert or tour for Stars and Rabbit around the world
What’s the best thing about being a musician?
Elda: We are the music itself
Adi: I’m happy being a musician, because I can go around the world with my music
And the worst?
Elda: When it becomes a job
Adi: Unpredictable work hours
